Granny's Sugar Cookies (Cake type)

Granny's Sugar Cookies (Cake Type) Makes about 5 dozen
This cookie is a family favorite. my Granny has been making these delicious cookies for as long as I can remember. I've been eating the batter to these cookies too many times to mention. My husband gives these his "The Best" rating. He tried to stop eating them after his third then his...well, I guess I won't mention how many he had in one day. Let's just say he likes them as much as I do.:-)

1 cup butter softened
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 cup sour milk OR 1 cup with 1 Tb vinegar (let sit in milk 5 minutes before adding)
1 tsp vanilla
4 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt

Cream butter, sugar, and eggs together.
Mix in the vanilla.
Mix in the milk.
Beat in flour, soda, and salt.
Try not to eat all the cookie dough before you bake them.
Drop onto cookie sheets using a small cookie scoop. Sprinkle with sugar if desired. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Can frost when cooled.
Enjoy some really yummy cookies fresh out of the oven. Watch out for your husband and children. Before you know it your stash will grow smaller, and smaller, and smaller.
